Posted on November 14, 2011

Tell us a little about yourself. I am a single mother of three grown children. I also have 1 grandchild. I work for a national managed care company as Director of Applications Development in IT.

When you’re not writing, what do you do to relax and have fun? I love to listen to music and spend time with my family. I also sing and enjoy singing solos in church

Tell us something few know about you.

I attended an all girls boarding school called Chatham Hall in Chatham, VA for high school.

I won 2nd place in a singing competition at VA state university when I was in High school.

I am deaf in my right ear since birth

What genre(s) do you like to read? I like to read urban fiction, erotica and mainstream women’s fiction

What is your favorite novel and why? Yesterday I cried by Iyanla Vanzant. Reading this book when I did changed my life.

What was the last novel you read that you enjoyed and why? She Who Finds a Husband by E.N. Joy. I thoroughly enjoyed this book as it was very entertaining and realistic.

When did you begin writing? I have kept journals and written poetry and short stories since I was a young teen.

What genre(s) do you write? Contemporary women’s fiction

How long does it typically take you to write a book? I wrote Yesterday’s Lies in two months

Tell us about your latest book? My next book which has yet to be named is a sequel. It picks up almost a year later from the original book. There were some lies from yesterday that did not come out in the first book

Are you consciously aware of the plot before you begin a novel, or do you discover it as you write? I discover the story as I write it.

Can you tell us a little about your main and supporting characters? Toni and Jada have been best friends since Junior High School. Toni is single and always seems to look for love in all the wrong placed. Jada is married to her high school sweetheart and has what appears to be the perfect life with husband David Jr. but things are seldom as they seem.

Do you tend to base your characters on real people or are they totally from your imagination? I make up my characters. I make them act the way I would like for people to act, except for the villain.

Can you tell us who or what was the inspiration behind your latest book? The inspiration behind writing Yesterday’s Lies is all of the loves I have lost.

Where can readers purchase your latest book? Purchase from Amazon

If you could change one thing about your writing career thus far, what would it be? I would have spent more time researching the industry before I jumped in with both feet.

What do you have on the burner for the next year? I hope to release my 2nd novel in 2012

How can readers reach you?
